HandS Lab Community Terms
Rules for those who take part in the HandS Lab community: what it offers, what it does not offer, and the rules it works by.
1. General provisions
1.1. These Terms govern participation in the HandS Lab community (the “Community”), which is organized by NGO “HandS Lab” (full registered name: NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION “Human & Synthetic Lab”), EDRPOU code 46189265, registered office: Ukraine, 03035, Kyiv, 13 Vasylia Mytropolyta Lypkivskoho Street, email: [email protected] (the “Organizer”).
1.2. The Community is an educational format: a space for shared learning, professional exchange, and discussion of experience of interaction with artificial intelligence.
1.3. The Terms supplement the Public Offer for educational and informational services, the Privacy Notice, and the document “Data of Educational Programs and Events”. In case of conflict regarding paid participation, the Offer applies.
1.4. By using the Community, a person confirms that they have read the Terms and agree to them.
2. What the Community is and what it is not
2.1. Participation in the Community may include: meetings with authors, researchers, and practitioners; practical laboratories; closing conversations; access to a library of materials; moderated interaction between events; and access to materials and learning scenarios named in the Participation Terms.
2.2. The Community is not a psychotherapy group, a crisis service, medical or psychological care, a guarantee of professional qualification, or a form of membership in the civic organization.
2.3. Participation does not provide unlimited individual consultations and does not give automatic access to all HandS Lab projects. Access to projects is granted separately, by request.
2.4. Membership in the civic organization is governed by the statute and a separate membership regulation.
3. Who may take part
3.1. Participation is open to adults. Individual professional formats may have additional requirements, announced in advance.
3.2. No technical background is required.
3.3. The Organizer may decline or end participation if it conflicts with the purposes of the Community, the safety of participants, or these Terms.
4. Rules of conduct
4.1. Participants treat each other with respect. Insults, harassment, discrimination on any ground, threats, and the publication of materials that incite hostility are not allowed.
4.2. Personal stories told at meetings and in the shared space stay within the Community. A participant does not disclose them without the consent of their author.
4.3. Do not publish in the shared space real client stories, consultation records, medical documents, or personal data of third parties. If a case needs discussion, it is presented anonymized so that the person cannot be recognized.
4.4. Participants do not diagnose other participants and do not give them medical or psychotherapeutic prescriptions.
4.5. Spam, advertising without the Organizer’s approval, fraud, the spreading of knowingly false information, and the use of the Community to collect data are not allowed.
4.6. If a participant or another person is in an acute state or under threat, contact emergency services at 112. The Community is not a crisis service.
4.7. A participant labels materials created with the help of artificial intelligence as such if they publish them as their own findings or researched facts.
5. Moderation
5.1. The Organizer moderates the Community: it may remove materials that violate the Terms, warn participants, temporarily restrict access, or exclude a participant.
5.2. The Organizer notifies the participant of a decision to restrict or exclude them and states the reason, except where this conflicts with the safety of other persons.
5.3. A participant may appeal the decision by writing to [email protected] within 14 days. The Organizer considers the appeal and responds within 14 days.
5.4. In case of exclusion for breach of the Terms, a refund for the unused period is made in accordance with the Offer unless the breach was gross.
6. Materials and rights to them
6.1. A participant keeps the rights to the materials they create and publish in the Community. By publishing them, the participant grants the Organizer and other participants a non-exclusive license to view and use these materials within the Community.
6.2. Materials of the Organizer and speakers are provided for personal educational use. Distribution and reuse are permitted only within the stated rights and licenses or with the written consent of the rights holder.
6.3. A participant warrants that they have the right to publish the materials they post and that the materials do not infringe the rights of third parties.
6.4. Meetings are recorded in accordance with the document “Data of Educational Programs and Events”. A separate consent is required if a participant’s voice, image, or question may enter a recording outside live participation.
7. Personal data
7.1. Participants’ personal data is processed in accordance with the Privacy Notice and the document “Data of Educational Programs and Events”.
7.2. A participant decides for themselves what information about themselves to disclose to other participants. The Organizer does not pass participants’ contact details to other participants or third parties without consent.
8. Paid participation
8.1. The price, the contents of participation, and the period are stated in the Participation Terms before registration. Paid participation is an educational service and is governed by the Offer.
8.2. No funds are charged automatically for a following period.
8.3. Paid participation does not mean joining the organization and does not grant governance rights.
9. Liability
9.1. The Organizer makes efforts to keep the Community a safe space, but is not liable for statements and actions of participants that violate the Terms, for the accuracy of materials published by participants, or for decisions that participants make on the basis of discussions.
9.2. The Organizer’s liability is limited as provided by the Offer.
10. Changes, termination, and final provisions
10.1. The Organizer may change the Terms. A new edition takes effect on publication and, for current participants, 14 days after notice of the changes.
10.2. A participant may end participation at any time. Refunds are made in accordance with the Offer.
10.3. Disputes are resolved in accordance with the Offer. The law of Ukraine applies to the Terms.
10.4. This document is made in Ukrainian. The English translation is provided for convenience; in case of discrepancies the Ukrainian text prevails.
